A small thing that cost me subscribers before I fixed it: put the unsubscribe link where people can find it, and make it work in one click. Nothing damages goodwill faster than a newsletter that is hard to leave.

RSS, Newsletter oder beides — womit erreicht ihr eure Stammleser?
Mein Feed hat laut Server-Log etwa 400 regelmässige Abrufe, mein Newsletter 180 Empfänger. Der Newsletter macht Arbeit, der Feed macht keine.
Trotzdem habe ich das Gefühl, dass die Newsletter-Leute die eigentliche Beziehung sind — sie antworten. Auf einen Feed antwortet niemand.
Wie handhabt ihr das? Beides parallel, und wenn ja: derselbe Text oder unterschiedliche? Und schickt ihr den ganzen Beitrag oder nur den Anfang?

Feed volltext, Newsletter mit Anriss. Ich will bei den Newsletter-Zahlen sehen, was gelesen wird, und beim Feed will ich niemandem im Weg stehen.

Ich mache es umgekehrt: der Newsletter ist eigenständig und erscheint auch dann, wenn ich nichts veröffentlicht habe. Dadurch ist er kein Verteiler, sondern ein eigenes Format — und genau deshalb antworten die Leute.

Both, full text in both. Truncated feeds are a habit from the ad era — if the point is that people read you, let them read where they already are. My newsletter is literally the feed with two sentences of context on top, generated automatically.

The two sentences on top are written by hand — that is the personal part. The rest is the post, and nobody wants a second version of it.
